What are the Customer Choice Programs?

The Customer Choice Programs (CCP) are initiatives under the Philippine electricity market reform framework that give eligible customers greater freedom in how they source electricity. Through these programs, customers may choose a licensed Retail Electricity Supplier (RES), access renewable energy options, or aggregate electricity demand with other customers to participate in the retail market.

The three pathways

Today, the CCP framework consists of three pathways: the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), and the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP). Rockport Power is an ERC-licensed Retail Electricity Supplier authorized to serve customers under all three programs.

EPIRA and market reform

The Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) was enacted to promote competition, efficiency, transparency, and consumer choice in the Philippine power sector. As part of this transformation, the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework was introduced to allow eligible electricity customers to choose their preferred supplier rather than relying solely on their local Distribution Utility (DU) for electricity supply.
