The Green Energy Option Program (GEOP) is one of the Customer Choice Programs that allows eligible customers to source electricity from renewable energy resources. Designed to encourage the adoption of clean energy, GEOP provides customers with the opportunity to incorporate renewable energy into their electricity supply while continuing to receive reliable power through their existing Distribution Utility (DU) network.

Who can participate in GEOP?
Customers with a facility that meets the applicable demand threshold — currently at least 100 kW average peak demand, subject to prevailing regulations — may qualify to participate in the Green Energy Option Program.
Will renewable energy affect the reliability of my electricity supply?
No. Your Distribution Utility continues to deliver electricity through the same network. Participation in GEOP changes the source of your electricity supply but does not affect the reliability of power delivery.
Can GEOP support our sustainability initiatives?
Yes. Many organizations participate in GEOP as part of broader sustainability and renewable energy programs. Renewable energy sourcing may also support internal environmental objectives and reporting initiatives.
